PAGEV PLASTİCS Schools to assist in the fight against coronavirus…
Discussing the exemplary social responsibility projects undertaken at the PAGEV Vocational and Technical High School, PAGEV Corporate Communication Director Cesur Çaça said, "We have partnered with the Ministry of Education for the 'spoonful of hope' project, which will help in the fight of our nation against coronavirus. The disposable cutlery produced at the PAGEV Vocational and Technical High Schools will be distributed to quarantine centers, hospitals and nursing homes fee of charge. Disposable products play a major role in preventing the spread of coronavirus. Single-use packaging and cutlery are essential to meet the food and ready-meal needs of people in the most sanitary manner. No one wants to use cutlery, serveware or glassware touched by others in the days of coronavirus. Ministries are issuing warnings to workplaces, recommending the use of disposable items to help prevent the spread. Porcelain plates and steel cutlery that were the norm in factory cafeterias have been replaced with disposable items. Single-use plastics are critical to protecting our health and consuming food in the most sanitary way. This is why PAGEV is contributing to the collective fight against coronavirus by producing disposable products in our schools and distributing them to the places that need them the most. I would like to thank Uzman Kalıp Manager Erdoğan Türk for helping to make this project a reality, the volunteer teachers of PAGEV PLASTİCS Schools for their valuable efforts, and all industry stakeholders for their support.”
PAGEV PLASTİCS School Principal Muhammet Erbaş said that hygiene and sanitation had become critical with the coronavirus pandemic, which PAGEV schools would assist with by making disposable cutlery to meet the need in quarantine centers and hospitals above all, continuing: “We will be making approximately 1 million single-use cutlery sets to begin with. Our volunteer teachers are helping with the production to supply a critical plastic item in the days of great need. We are proud to be doing our part in a collective endeavor.”
