GEKAP DEADLINE FOR COMPANIES EXTENDED

The deadline for submitting GEKAP statements has been extended to March 30, 2020

The Recovery Contribution Program (GEKAP) implemented in the beginning of 2020 imposes many additional obligations on companies. The initial deadline for GEKAP submission of March 2, 2020 had been met with objection since the obligations and the process was not clear. The Directorate of Revenue Administration now issued a deadline extension. The deadline for electronic submission of Recycling Contribution Program has been extended until Monday, March 30, 2020. PAGEV President Yavuz Eroğlu said, “The extension of the GEKAP deadline was a smart move for providing more information to businesses and making a more thorough assessment of the situation."

PAGEV Board of Directors Chair Yavuz Eroğlu said that they would continue to provide the latest information to all industry members, continuing: “The Recovery Contribution Program (GEKAP) concerns many industrialists very closely. The extension of the deadline will help businesses understand which products are subject to GEKAP, whether they are GEKAP incumbents, the proper declaration procedures and exemptions, and particularly the costs involved, and will ensure a more thorough understanding of the situation. We will continue to work with the Ministry and the industry to provide information and call for revisions that we consider necessary."
